Explore the Valley

Paonia is a small town in the North Fork Valley on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains and is rich in attractions and activities. Known for its orchards, farms, ranches, and vineyards, Paonia is frequently referred to as Colorado’s farm-to-table capital.   The bounty of the area is celebrated at events like Cherry Days, held each year over the 4th of July and the longest standing community festival in Colorado; live concerts in the Town Park held on Thursday nights throughout August; and the Mountain Harvest Festival in late September. Federal lands surrounding Paonia provide boundless opportunities for outdoor activities and endless possibilities for day trips. The inspiring beauty of the valley attracts artists and musicians to make their homes here. In fact, renowned sculptor Lincoln Fox lives locally and created the bronze art piece in the hotel’s entry parlor.

Located at the foot of Mount Lamborn in Delta County and surrounded by federal lands, this is your headquarters for engaging in outdoor activities and exploring all that Mother Nature has provided. Bicyclists and motorcyclists from around the world come here to ride the challenging mountain roads. Other folks come for the food and wine. With a growing a number of wineries as well as the highest concentration of organic growers in the state, Paonia has become known as the farm-to-table capitol of Colorado. The inspiring beauty has made this a center for artists and musicians to pursue their crafts. We encourage you to visit Paonia, stay at the historic Bross Hotel Bed & Breakfast, and savor all that the area offers.
