Fall Photo Safari
Fall is truly one of the most magical times of the year on Colorado’s Western Slope, and Paonia is excellently positioned for accessing world-class Aspen groves and lofty mountain peaks in all four directions. Join Paonia-based professional photographer Ben Lehman October 1 on a beginner-friendly Fall Photo Safari and educational excursion with the historic Bross Hotel serving as basecamp! After a delicious breakfast spread, Ben will lead guests high into the western Rockies, driving directly to the most picturesque vantage points of the area’s peak aspen colors. Once participants are best positioned to marvel at the vast shimmering oceans of living gold, orange, red, and brilliant white, Ben will share instruction and tips on the use and features of their cameras so that even novices can bring home first class images they will cherish forever. Multiple locations will be visited to provide a variety of composition options to capture. Covering topics such as basic elements of composition, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO with more advanced personal instruction where appropriate, the day’s journey will give any budding or amateur photographer the confidence to move beyond “Auto mode” and enjoy a more solid understanding of the capabilities of their equipment. A mid-day photo share and critique will be held while having a picnic lunch so that the afternoon session will benefit from what was learned in the morning.
