Remember the Ladies ~ (Month of March)
In 1776 Abigail Adams wrote to her husband John, a representative to the Continental Congress, urging him to “remember the ladies and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors” when writing new laws. Her plea is as important today as it was 241 years ago. The Equal Rights Amendment has not passed into law and the new Congress is threatening to return women to the time of their ancestors. We need to “remember the ladies”. One way we can do that is to support the National Women’s History Museum. To do that the Bross Hotel is sponsoring “Ladies’ Days” during Women’s History Month (March). You get your girlfriends together for a night or two at the Bross Hotel and I’ll donate half the room revenue to the museum, which is currently waiting for Congress’s approval for a location on the National Mall. Meanwhile, the museum is providing much needed information on women’s contributions to society on its website (nwhm.org). Take a look at it and plan your girlfriends/ladies getaway for any date(s) in March. Just give me a call so your group gets their chosen date(s) on the calendar. Remember we have a large lounge that can be used for crafts, book discussions, movie viewing, and socializing. I look forward to celebrating Women’s History Month with you and supporting the National Women’s History Museum.
